The Acme Motor Buggy Manufacturing Co.

Introduced as the Acme Roadster in 1908, this vehicle was advertised in 1909 as the M. B. 22 (for Motor Buggy with 22 Horsepower). In the following years a Touring Car, Roadster and Delivery bodies were produced.

The Minneapolis Acme had no relationship to the Acme produced in Reading, PA.

The 1908 Acme was equipped with a water cooled two cylinder engine rated at 16 horsepower. In 1909 the Acme Motor Buggy horsepower was increased to 22. Both American Automobiles were equipped with solid rubber tires.

In 1910 The Acme Motor Buggy Manufacturing Co. produced a new model called the Renville. Named after Renville, Minnesota the home town of The Acme Motor Buggy Manufacturing Co. owners, the Hoffman Brothers. This American Automobile was equipped with a four cylinder engine rated at 45 horsepower. New features included pneumatic tires, smaller tires and a retail price of $1,500.00.
