The Apperson Automobile Co.

The Apperson Brothers Automobile Co. was a Kokomo, Indiana company started by Elmer Apperson and Edgar Apperson in 1902. In 1920 Elmer Apperson died and in 1924 the Apperson Brothers Automobile Company was reorganized into The Apperson Automobile Co.

1924 Apperson six cylinder production included a Model 6-24 five passenger Phaeton and a five passenger Sedan. They were built on a 120 inch wheelbase and developed 46 horsepower. 1924 Apperson eight cylinder production included the Model 8-24 five and seven passenger Phaeton Touring Cars and the five and seven passenger Sedans. These cars were built on a large 130 inch chassis and the V-8 developed 70 horsepower.

1925 Apperson production included 6 cylinder (46 horsepower), straight 8 and V-8 engines of 60 horsepower. Body styles included Phaetons, Sport Phaetons, Coupes, Sedans, Sport Sedans and Broughams more than any other year.

The straight 8 engines were dropped and front wheel brakes were introduced in 1926 Apperson automobiles. These Apperson automobiles were to be their last. The Apperson Automobile Co. went in receivership on July 20, 1926.
