In 1906 the REO Motor Car Co. of Lansing, MI built an American Automobile called the REO Midget. About ten REO Midget's were made. The REO Midget was a miniature reproduction of their 1906 Reo automobile.

They were complete in every respect to the 1906 REO except for the 2 cylinder 16 horsepower engine. The Midget ran on compressed air and top speed was about 5 MPH.

You can get an idea of how small the car really was when you consider that the passengers in the car shown below are very small dwarfs.

In the image below are Colonel Auger, "The Welsh Giant", "Jumbo" the elephant and the Lilliputians in the baby REO, all of the Barnum and Bailey Circus.

In this Advertisement The REO Motor Car Co. claimed "Built for what happens - What REO cars did in the past year demonstrated them built not for imaginary occasions but for actual motoring and always ready for the unexpected".

In 1906 you could buy a REO Touring Car for $1,250.00 and a REO Runabout for $650.00. The name REO for this American Automobile is derives from the initials of Ransom E. Olds of the Oldsmobile Company.
