1931 Studebaker President Eight The 1931 Studebaker President Eight Series 70 was built as a $1,900 four passenger Roadster, $1,850 two passenger Coupe, $1,950 four passenger State Coupe, $1,850 four door Sedan and a $1,950 four door State Sedan. In 1931 Studebaker introduced "Free Wheeling" allowing a driver to shift gears without using the clutch. In 1931 6,340 Studebaker Presidents were built on a 130 and 136 inch chassis.
