Yenko started with 100 Corvair Corsas and modified the 164 cubic inch air cooled six cylinder engines with four different horsepowers of 240, 220, 190 and 160. The Yenko Corvair Corsa or Stinger was very popular in SCCA racing circles.
1960s Yenko Sportscars Advertisement Don Yenko later went on to build the Yenko Super Camaro, Yenko Duece, Yenko Chevelle, Yenko Super Nova, Yenko Vega Stinger 2) and the Yenko Camaro Turbo Z. None of these Yenko modified automobiles had the handling of the Corvair Stinger. However the Yenko Camaro's, Chevelles, Nova's and Vega's were among the fastest Scca racing cars ever produced.
Restored Yenko Stinger Corvair Corsa Total production of the Yenko Corvair Stingers was about 200 units and they could be distinguished by the Stinger emblem shown on the upper right. The location of the Stinger emblem was next to the head light on the drivers side as shown above in this restored Yenko Stinger Corvair Corsa.
