The two passenger could cycle along at speeds up to 45 miles per hour and literally turn around on a dime. The term "diamond" comes from the fact that there were two wheels in line, as on a bicycle and two slightly smaller wheels on the sides about a foot away from the tonneau.
1907 Autocycle Steering was done by the front and both side wheels. This permitted a very short turning radius. However on rough and rutted roads steering was at a disadvantage as compared to paved city streets.
