1925 Balboa Five Passenger Phaeton A five passenger Balboa Touring Car and a Sports Brougham of 127 inch wheelbase were produced. The Balboa was equipped with a Kessler eight cylinder engine at first then a superchargered rotary valve over head cam engine of their own design. 1925 Rand McNally Auto Road Atlas In 1856, William Rand opened a small printing shop in Chicago forming the forerunner to the Rand McNally Auto Road Atlas. In 1899, William Rand leaves the company to pursue other interests and Andrew McNally becomes President and his family runs the business for the next century. In 1904, Rand McNally published it's first automobile road map. In the early 1920s Rand McNally debuts a new highway numbering system that will become the model for the system used across the United States today. In 2006, Rand McNally celebrates 150 years of excellence in printing the Road Atlas.
