The Blomstrom Automobile & The Blomstrom Mfg. Co.

Carl Blomstrom built experimental cars in his free time as early as 1897. In 1902 Blomstrom produced about 25 runabouts equipped with a small single cylinder engine. In 1903 a new automobile was built with a patented two cylinder opposed engine.

These American Automobiles were produced under the C. H. Blomstrom Co. of Detroit, Michigan in 1902 and 1903. In 1904 Carl Blomstrom reorganized the C. H. Blomstrom Co. into the C. H. Blomstrom Motor Company and made a car called the Queen. The Blomstrom Company encountered legal difficulty and merged with the De Luxe Motor Car Co. of Detroit, MI in 1907. The De Luxe Motor Car Co. produced another American Automobile called the Car Deluxe beginning in 1906. The Queen name was dropped in 1907 and renamed The Blomstrom. In 1908 C. H. Blomstrom designed and built the Gyroscope automobile that had a very unusual engine. By 1909 the Blomstrom Motor Company went out of business. Its assets, including the factory, were reported to be sold to the Lion Motor Car Company and they produced the Gyroscope in 1909 and the Lion automobile up to 1912..
