1916 Crane-Simplex Model 5 Holbrook The 1916 Crane-Simplex Model 5 was among the most expensive, largest and most powerful well built luxury car in America. These American Automobiles were owned by only the wealthiest socilites and businessmen of the time. The chassis alone cost more than $8,000.00.
1918 Crane-Simplex Touring Car The high dollar Crane-Simplex chassis carried coachwork from such custom body builders as Brewster, Holbrook, Quimby and Kimball. In the early 1920s Crane-Simplex was absorbed by Hare's Motors. Production in the 1920s was small and the last Crane-Simplex was produced in 1924.
1915 Crane-Simplex Six Cylinder Chassis Shown above and below is a 1915 Crane-Simplex Six Cylinder Chassis and engine. They were built by The Simplex Automobile Company in New Brunswick, NJ. This six cylinder engine was rated at 46 horsepower. The cylinders were arranged in two pairs of three much like those for the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.
