The Crowther-Duryea Cyclecar like the earlier Crowther Cyclecar was powered by a four cylinder engine that developed 22.5 horsepower. It had a wheelbase of 110 inches, 30 inch x 3 inch wheels and tires. A truck was also manufactured, which had a number of new features developed by Charles E. Duryea. The Crowther-Duryea Motor Co. automobile assembling plant was to have an annual capacity of 10,000 motor cars. However, very few if any were made.
We are looking for additional Crowther-Duryea Cyclecar photographs or vintage Crowther-Duryea advertising for this web page. In the mean time enjoy this Kelly-Springfield Tire ad from a vintage 1921 magazine.
1921 Kelly Springfield Tire Advertisement Edith Norma Shearer was one of the most popular actresses in the United States from the 1920s to the 1930s. She became a model for Springfield Tires and was given the title "Miss Lotta Miles" (Lot-A-Miles). Here she is depicted next to a tire. The caption stated - "Possibly two hundred makes of tires are advertised as Best. We rest our case on the verdict of the man who uses Kellys. Ask Him!"
