The Woods Mobilette Co.
The Woods Mobilette Cyclecar first appeared as a prototype in 1910. However, production did not start until 1914 in Harvey, IL by the builder Francis A. Woods. Advertising claimed this Cyclecar as "America's First Cycle-Car". A typical 1914 Woods Mobilette was equipped with a four cylinder 12 horsepower water cooled engine. The transmission was a sliding gear type with two speeds forward and a reverse.
