The Drexel was an American Automobile that was equipped with a Farmer overhead valve overhead cam engine that could develop 3,600 RPM, a very high speed for 1917.
1917 Drexel Club Roadster The Drexel and Farmack both used the high speed Farmer engine. The Farmer engine was a four cylinder water cooled power plant with 3 1/2 inch bore and a five inch stroke. Each cylinder had four overhead valves. The Magneto, oil pump, fan pully was driven by the crankshaft by a 1 1/2 inch Morse silent chain. A second chain off the crankshaft operated the overhead camshaft. The Farmer used Tobin bronze bearing.
1917 Drexel Five Passenger Touring Car Shown above was the Drexel five passenger Touring Car. This Touring Car was equipped with a 40 horsepower Farmer engine, had a wheelbase of 112 inches and was priced at $965.00. Three finishes were offered on all Drexel automobiles, Drexel green, deep blue and peerless gray.

The advertisement displayed features and specifications of the Drexel seven passenger Touring Car and the classy Drexel four passenger Club Roadster. Advertising claims made included - "On any boulevard the Drexel seven passenger Touring Car and four passenger Club Roadster can hold their own in comparison with the picked cars of England, France, Germany or Italy". According to the advertisement it also included "Luxury, comfort and Performance".
