Offered as a two passenger Model K Runabout only on an 88 inch wheelbase, the Ess Eff was pictured and described in the 1912 roster of American makes published in the Automobile Trade Journal. The Ess Eff was a step backwards. It had a low price tag of $350, but it bought the most primeval of specifactions. The Ess Eff was equipped with a two cylinder, two stroke engine that developed 17 horsepower. A final drive was by a friction transmission and chain drive. The two stroke engine and chain drive were out dated by 1912.
Auto Chair 1904 World's Fair Semple S. Scott was listed as the the owner of Ess Eff Silent Motor Co. 351 Ellicott Sq., Buffalo, NY in 1912. Scott also invented the first 8 passenger electric open top bus in 1898. In 1903, Semple S. Scott built 3,000 motor chairs propelled by electricity that were used in the 1904 St. Louis, MO World Fair.
