Shown below is a 1911 Babcock Electric model 16 five passenger Touring Car. Babcock yellow was the paint of choice but other were available. Interior was made of leather.
1907 Newspaper Ad Depicting a Babcock Electric Carriage Co. This car was equipped with 34 inch x 4 1/2 inch wheels and Firestone tires. The electric motor developed 20 horsepower. Controller had five speeds forward and one reverse. Battery was a 6 cell Edison. Wheelbase was 105 inches and a 56 inch tread. Price was $3,500.00.
1907 Newspaper Ad Depicting a Babcock Electric Carriage Co. Advertising for the Babcock Electric automobiles claim that they were the "Standard of Excellence." They further claim that "These cars combine all the elements of safety and comfort with sufficient speed, besides greater mileage than is required in city or suburban riding."
