The electric motor was to be use for short trips and the gasoline engine for longer trips. The F. A. Woods Auto Co. was established for manufacture in Chicago, Illinois. Very few of these American Electric Cars were made. Francis Woods later turned his attention to the production of the American Cyclecar called the Woods Mobilette Cyclecar that first appeared as a prototype in 1910.
