1917 Emerson Touring Car The Emerson sold for $545.00 which was reduced to $395.00 for 1917 as shown above. The Emerson was succeeded by the Campbell which was a similar design also selling for $395.00.
1917 Emerson Four Engine In 1917 The Emerson Motors Co. was accused that officials with the company committed fraud when they induced people to buy Emerson stock by claiming that they had orders for $60,000 cars. Nearly $1,500,000.00 was taken in by Fraud. The company was incorporated in 1916 with $10,000,000.00 in capital. Assets in 1917 were found to be less that $100,000.00. The indicated persons were N. F. Wilson, W. G. Emerson, T. A. Campball, G. B. Gifford and others. Four person were found guilty and the company went into receivership in 1918.
