The F. A. L. Auto Co. Chicago, IL

The F. A. L. Car was an American Automobile named after the founders of The F. A. L. Motor Co., T. S. Fauntleroy, H. R. Averill and E. H. Lowe. At least three body styles were produced from 1909 to 1913. A two passenger roadster, Toy Tonneau and a seven passenger Touring Car.

Priced at $1750.00 to $3,000.00 early models were equipped with a four cylinder Buda engine rated at 30 horsepower. From 1910 onwards a 35/40 horsepower four cylinder engines were used by The F. A. L. Motor Co.

The F. A. L. Car was successor to Reliable Dayton Motor Car in 1909. In the spring of 1914 the company assets were sold at auction to A. O. Dunk of the Puritan Machine Co. Total FAL production, including the sleeper Grayhound, was claimed at the time to be 65000 units.

In 1914 The F. A. L. Auto Co. designed and built an automobile called the Grayhound. The Grayhound had one single headlight in the top of the radiator and had a two seater roadster body. The unique feature of the Grayhound was that it could be converted into a bed. The seat cushion was pushed forward to act as a pillow and the sleepers feet stretched towards the back of the body.

E. H. Lowe, founder of The FAL Motor Company signed this nicely engraved Stock Certificate in 1910. The amount of shares was 10 at $10.00 per share. A 1910 F. A. L. Touring Car is shown in this Certificate.
