When Henry Ford formed The Ford Motor Co. in 1903, he called his cars by the letter of the alphabet.

The first model from this new company became the Model A of 1903. New improved models were assigned Model B, Model C, etc. Some models were only experiential or Concept Cars and never saw production.

Due to WWII no Fords automobiles were produced during 1943, 1944 and 1945. Henry Ford was in his 70s when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He quickly geared up The Ford Motor Company to war production and produced a variety of military vehicles including Jeeps and bombers.
