The Ford Motor Co. assigned letters of the alphabet for all models beginning in 1903. Thus the first model by The Ford Motor Co. became the Model A and the new improved models assigned Model AC, B and C. Total 1904 Ford production was 1,695 units.
![]() 1903 / 1904 Ford Model A Model A production continued from 1903 to September 30, 1904. It had a 2 cylinder engine rated at 8 horsepower and a two speed transmission with chain drive. It's wheelbase was 72 inches. It was capable of carrying two passenger, plus two more with its detachable rear entrance tonneau.
![]() 1904 Ford Model AC The Model AC was essentially a Model A with the new Model C 10 horsepower engine. In addition the Model AC had a 78 inch wheelbase, 6 inches long than the Model A. Price in 1904 $850.00 for the Runabout and $950.00 with Tonneau. In October of 1904 The Ford Motor Co. introduced the four cylinder Model B (shown below). It was a drastic shift in direction for Henry Ford. It was a four passenger touring type automobile powered by a 318 cubic inch 4 cylinder engine that was rated at 24 horsepower. Transmission was a two speed with one reverse and shaft drive. Additional features of the 1904 Ford Model B included - 92 inch wheelbase, 55 inch tread, 32 x 3 1/2 inch wheels and tires, leather interior, painted dark green body yellow running gear, Holley Carburetor, 2 oil lamps, horn and tools. Price in 1904 - $2,000.00
![]() 1904 Model B and Model C Introduced in September, 1904 the Model C Ford combines all the good features of the popular two cylinder car of 1903 and 1904, known as Model A. The Model C was a medium priced, roomy, light car, a simple car and one with ample power. The most important changes were the 10 horsepower two cylinder water cooled engine and increased wheel base to 78 inches. Price in 1904 - $850.00 for the Runabout and $950.00 with Tonneau. The Ford Model B, C and F Automobiles followed in 1905.
