The Ford Motor Co.
Detroit, MI

In September of 1912 The Ford Motor Co. introduced the second new body style to arrive that calendar year. Ford then marketed it as a 1913 Model T. The redesigned 1913 Ford Model T set the blueprint for the next 12 years.

"Made In U.S.A." now appeared on the radiator under the Ford name and many other parts as well.

1913 Ford Model T's were painted dark blue with pin striping. The Torpedo Roadster with the rear mounted gas tank was discontinued. 215,186 Touring Cars, Runabouts, Town Cars and Delivery Cars were produced.

By March 1, 1913 The Ford Motor Co. had over 1,000 carefully selected dealerships all over the U.S. The Ford Model T became an American Automobile for the "great multitude" and created a rural revolution in America. By the end of 1913 The Ford Motor Company was producing half of all automobiles made in the U.S. With new facilities in Highland Park, Michigan and Buffalo, NY The Ford Motor Co. was able to now make its own engines, axles, bodies, frames and other small pressed steel parts.

The assembly line developed by The Ford Model T had immense influence on the American Automobile industry. The moving assembly line got its start in 1913 by Henry Ford and The Ford Motor Co. By the end of 1913 there were almost 200 assemblers working on a 300 foot moving assembly line producing more than 600 units a day. Production of the Model T rose from 72,567 in 1911 to a high of 2,201,188 units in 1923. The 1914 Ford Model T followed the 1913 Fords.
