On April 14, 1931 The Ford Motor Co. produced it's 20 millionth American Automobile. In the image below Henry Ford and his son Edsel celebrate the completion of their 20 millionth automobile in Detroit. The automobile was a 1931 Ford Model A four door sedan.

The 1931 Ford Model A came in a wide variety of styles including a standard and deluxe Phaeton, standard and deluxe Roadster, Sport Coupe, standard and deluxe Coupe, standard and deluxe Tudor, deluxe 2 window fordor, standard and town sedan 3 window fordor, convertible Sedan, Victoria, Town Car and Station Wagons.
1931 Ford Model A Roadster
The 31 Fords were equipped with the same four cylinder engine as other model A's. Specification included - In line, L-head, cast iron block, 3 7/8 bore, 4 1/4 stroke, 200.5 cubic inch displacement, 128 ft lbs torque and 40 horsepower rating.
1931 Ford Convertible Coupe
Additional mechanical specifications include - Zenith or Holly carburetor, three speed sliding gear transmission, floor shift controls, dry multiple disc clutch, shaft drive, 3/4 inch floating rear axle, 3.77:1 ratio, mechanical internal expanding brakes and 19 inch wheels and tires.
1931 Ford Convertible Sedan
The star attraction for the Ford Motor Co. was the Convertible Sedan shown above. The Convertible Sedan had fixed side window frames over which the top rode up and down on a set of tracks. A new feature on the Convertible Sedan was a side mount spare tire.
1931 Ford Sport Phaeton
The 1931 Ford Sport Phaeton had a streamlined look and a rainbow of colors to choose from. 1931 production figures for the standard Phaeton was 4,076 and for the deluxe 2,229. A total of 125,000 Model A Ford's were produced from 1928 to 1931 at an average price of $475.00.
1931 Ford Victoria
The Model A eventually reached the end of the line when consumers demanned even more luxury and power. Ford was ready with plenty of both. The 1932 Ford Model B and Model 18 cars and trucks followed the 1931 Fords.
