The Gem Motor Car Co. of Jackson & Grand Rapids, Michigan began operations in 1917 and produced about 85 American Automobiles by its closing in 1919. The Gem Automobile was a light, assembled car with a four cylinder G. B.& S. engine. Only two models were produced, a five passenger touring car, selling for $845, and a light delivery truck.

This is a 1917 magazine ad for the Black and Decker Mfg. Company. The product is an electric air pump called the Lectroflater. They claimed in 1917 that it was a great attraction. "Free air is a gracious invitation, appreciated by every motorist who passes your door!" The Lectroflater was made in Baltimore, MD.
