1908 Gyroscope - Gyroscope Automobile Co. The engine was rated at 16 horsepower. C. H. Blomstrom of Detroit, MI owner of the C. H. Blomstrom Mfg. Co. designed the Gyroscope engine. It was claimed that the Gyroscope engine and running gear increased stability and prevented skidding. The running gear, frame and body of this automobile was very similar to the Queen and Blomstrom both of which were built and designed by C. H. Blomstrom. The 16 horsepower engine was connected to a friction transmission and shaft drive. The Gyroscope was available in three different body styles in 1908. A $750.00 Runabout, $800.00 Tourabout and a $800.00 Touring Car. The 1908 Gyroscope was advertised as "The Simplest Automobile In The World"
1912 Lion Motor Co. Magazine Ad In 1909 Carl H. Blomstrom sold the Gyroscope automobile and patents to the Lion Motor Car Company in Adrian, Michigan which was organized by Fred Postal and Henry Bowen. By the end of 1909 The Lion Motor Car Company was producing a new automobile they called the Lion 40 Model K which sold for $1600.00 fully equipped.
