The Gyroscope, an unusual American Automobile, was named because of it's horizontally mounted engine. It's crank shaft was vertical, thus bringing the flywheel in a horizontal plane under the cylinders.

The engine was rated at 16 horsepower. C. H. Blomstrom of Detroit, MI owner of the C. H. Blomstrom Mfg. Co. designed the Gyroscope engine. It was claimed that the Gyroscope engine and running gear increased stability and prevented skidding. The running gear, frame and body of this automobile was very similar to the Queen and Blomstrom both of which were built and designed by C. H. Blomstrom. The 16 horsepower engine was connected to a friction transmission and shaft drive.

The Gyroscope was available in three different body styles in 1908. A $750.00 Runabout, $800.00 Tourabout and a $800.00 Touring Car. The 1908 Gyroscope was advertised as "The Simplest Automobile In The World"
