The Handley-Knight was an American Automobile hailing from Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Handley Motors, Inc was formed by James I. Handley, W. E. Upjohn, Charles A. Blaney, C. S. Campbell, W. H. Conklln, R. J. Fitness and C. V. Kean Jr.

The Handley-Knight was an assembled car composed of units well known to the trade including the Knight engine.

The first Handley-Knight was introduced in Motor Age Magazine on November 18, 1920. The large seven passenger 1920 Handley-Knight Touring Car & seven passenger sedan had a 125 inch wheelbase and a factory price of $2985.00. The body was made of aluminum on a ash frame. Upholstered in long grain hand buffed leather. Features included a Moto-Meter, Van Sicklen speedometer, eight day clock, dash lamp, curtains, tonneau lamp and a complete set of tools.

The Handley-Knight was equipped with a Knight four cylinder sleeve valve engine made by Willys-Overland Company at Elyria, Ohio. The bore was 4 1/2 inches and a stroke of 4 1/2 inches. Mechanical features included a Borg & Berk clutch, Grant-Lees transmission gear set, Snead-Thermold universals, Timken axle, Gemmer steering gear, auto-lite electrical equipment, Tillotson carbureter, U. S. L. battery.

The 1922 Handley-Knight seven passenger Touring Car had a wheelbase of 125 inches, wood wheels, 32 inches x 4 1/2 inch tires, expanding rear wheel brakes and six volt system.   Accessories included speedometer, ammeter, clock, tire pump, electric horn, demountable rims.

The 1922 Handley-Knight was equipped with a four cylinder water cooled engine that developed 27 horsepower.  Bore was 4 1/8 inches and the stroke was 4 1/2 inches.  It had a selective sliding gear transmission with three speeds forward and one reverse with a shaft drive.

The following automobiles were produced - $2250.00 five passenger Touring Car, $2450.00 seven passenger Touring Car, $2650.00 seven passenger Deluxe Touring Car, $3750.00 four passenger Coupe and a $3750.00 seven passenger Sedan.
