In order to meet the various wishes of their customers Touring Car and Roadster of different horsepower were produced by The Imperial Automobile Co. A 1910 Imperial model 45 shown below was equipped with a four cylinder rated at 50 horsepower. It's wheel base was a typical 117 inches, used 34 inch x 4 inch wheels and tires and a Remy Magneto. Price in 1910 was $2,000.00.
In order to compete in the American Automobile market The Imperial Automobile Company reduced it's prices for 1910. The Imperial Model 36 Touring Car was priced at $1,600.00 in the above advertisement. All other models were $1,350.00 and up according to this advertisement. In 1913 the Imperial advertisement below the Model 34 was priced at $1,650.00 and others were priced $1,285.00 to 2,500.00
1913 Imperial 34 Touring Car In 1913 Imperial Advertising claims included "Behind Every Imperial Car Stands The Imperial Factory" and "Behind The Imperial Factory Are Six Years Of Automobile manufacturing" and "Behind This Stand The Record Of Thousands Of Imperial Cars."
1914 Imperial 33 Roadster Shown above is the $1,500 1914 Imperial Model 33 two passenger Roadster. Features include a water cooled four cylinder engine that developed almost 29 horsepower, 114 inch wheelbase, 56 inch tread or gauge, 34 inch x 4 inch wheels and tires, selective sliding gear transmission with three speeds forward and reverse and shaft drive.
Features of the five passenger 1914 Imperial 32 above included a 29 horsepower water cooled four cylinder engine, 114 inch wheelbase, 56 inch gauge, shaft drive and selective sliding gear trasmission with three speeds forward and reverse. The model 32 was black in color and the model 34 was brewster green. The model 34 was a larger car with a 118 inch wheelbase. Other spec's were about the same except for the larger four cylinder 32 horsepower engine. The name Imperial was used by several American Automobile manufacturers. In 1903 and 1904 an Imperial was produced by the Rodgers & Co. in Columbus, Ohio. In 1906 and 1907 another Imperial was built in Williamsport, PA by The Imperial Motor Car Co. Another Imperial was produced by The Imperial Automobile Co. from 1907 to 1916 in Jackson, Michigan. Chrysler started in 1926 and the Chrysler Imperial became a distinct make in 1955 and continued till 1975.
Features of the seven passenger 1914 Imperial 54 above included a 41 horsepower water cooled six cylinder engine, 137 inch wheelbase, 56 inch gauge, shaft drive and selective sliding gear trasmission with three speeds forward and reverse. The model 44-6 above was a five passenger Touring Car with a smaller 34 horsepower six cylinder engine. The model 44-6 was slightly smaller with a 126 inch wheelbase when compared to the model 54. All other features were about the same for these two models.
