Mishawaka, Indiana

The Kenworthy Motor Co produced and American Automobile that had a resemblance to the high priced 1920s English Rolls Royce. The Kenworthy was a large 130 inch wheelbase five passenger four door Touring Car.

The Kenworthy automobile was produced in Mishawaka, Indiana in 1920, 1921 and 1922.

1920 Kenworthy Specifications included a optional Continental six cylinder with a bore of 3 1/2 inches and a stroke of 5 1/4 inches. A four cylinder Duesenberg engine was also available. The electrical starting and lighting system was provided by Westinghouse. Bosch provided the magneto ignition, Brown-Lipe the clutch and axle was made by Columbia. Other features included disk wheels, five tires, two spotlight, tire pump, and other regular equipment.

The Kenworthy and Duesenberg were the first American Automobiles to offer straight eight cylinder engines. Their straight eight's used overhead inlet valves and side exhaust valves. The Kenworthy Line-O-Eight was also equipped with four wheel brakes in 1921.

The above 1921 Kenworthy Line-O-Eight claimed "A progressive, impressive motor car - sufficiently different to create immediate interest; sufficiently better mechanically to convert interest into desire; sufficiently beautiful and well appointed to command and close valuable sales".
