The Kurtz Automobile & The Kurtz Motor Car Co.

Advertising claims by The Kurtz Motor Car Co. included "Kurtz Automatic - America's Most Advanced Motor Car". The Kurtz had an advance gear control not seen on other American Automobiles in the 1920s. The feature eliminates the gear shift and emergency brake levers from the automobile floor. The gear control was done on the steering wheel by a pre-selector lever. The Kurtz Automatic gear control was said to be "a mechanical device, automatic, non-electrical, non-magnetic, fool proof and absolutely reliable". The Kurtz was equipped with a six cylinder Herschell-Spillman engine.

1910 Auto Automatic Windshield Advertisement

The Auto Automatic Windshield was produced by the Superior Mfg. Co. of Ann Arbor, Michigan. It made replacement windshields for American Automobiles. The frame and all exposed metal parts were made of brass, glass was polished French plate and set in a brass frame. 1910 prices were $35.00 for a Straight Shield and $40.00 for a Zigzag Model.
