1950 Martin Stationette - James V. Martin Standing The Martin Martinette evolved into the Martin Stationette (shown above). A new body was built for the Stationette by The Biehl Autobody Co. of Reading, PA. Public announcement came at the World Motor Sports Show in April 1954. Just how many Martin's three passenger Stationette were built we do not know.
1950 Martin Stationette The Martin Stationette was made mostly of wood in a station wagon style. It was equipped with a Hercules four cylinder engine and a Martin Magnetic Fluid Drive transmission. It had a single front door, engine in the rear and a single chain drive. With no axles, drive shaft or conventional shock absorbers the Stationette would be cheaper to build. Martin hoped to sell the Stationette for less than $1,000.00.
