The Metz Master Six priced at $1,495.00 were built as a Touring Car and a Roadster. Metz sold about 6,000 of his American Automobiles in 1919. Each car was equipped with a Lycoming or Rutenber six cylinder engine rated at 45 horsepower, three speed sliding gear Warner or Brown-Lipe transmission. They were built on a 117 inch wheelbase and weighed 2,500 pounds. Other features included a floating rear axle, 32 x 4 inch tires on white wire wheels and full electric equipment. The exterior finish was royal blue with leather interior.
1919 Metz Master Six Auto Literature For the 1920 model year the Metz Master Six wheelbase grew to 120 inches. 1920 Metz production line included a $2,795.00 four door sedan, $2,695.00 two passenger closed coupe and a $1,195.00 roadster. The body of both the closed sedan and coupe were made of aluminum. However, 1920 Metz sales fell to 851 automobiles. The 1921 Metz Master Six was unchanged and prices on all body styles were raised $100.00. A post World War I recession crippled the auto industry in 1921. The Metz Company was reorganized as the Waltham Motor Manufacturers, Inc. and the name of the automobiles was changed to the Waltham Six.
