The Middleby Automobile & The Middleby Auto Co.

After 1911 a 4 cylinder water cooled engine was introduced. Transmission was a slide gear with three speeds forward and one reverse. Wheelbase of the 1908 Middleby shown below was 108 inches with 30 inch x 3 1/2 inch wheel and tires. Standard equipment on the Middleby included two gas lamps, two side oil lamps, one rear lamp, tools and a French horn.

The Middleby auto was produced in six different models. A Touring car that sold for $1,200.00, Toy Tonneau for $1,200.00, double rumble for $1,100.00, single rumble for $1,000.00, Surrey Type for $1,000.00 and a Runabout for $850.00. The Runabout was an Ideal Car for doctors.
