The Rapid Motor Vehicle Co. under the direction of Albert North and Harry Hamilton produced many different styles of passenger cars for commercial purposes. Commercial Vehicle produced included 12 passenger Rapid Pullman Passenger Cars, 12 passenger Sight Seeing Cars, 12 passenger Hotel Bus and other vehicles to suit special requirements.
1907 Rapid Vehicles The Rapid Motor Vehicle Co. was the predecessor of the GMC truck. In 1909, General Motors acquired the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company of Pontiac, Michigan. The trade name GMC trucks first appeared in 1912
1908 Rapid Motor Vehicle Co. Advertisement The ornate stock certificate below was issued by the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company in 1905. Note the signature of president Albert Marx and Secretary Morris Grabowsky and that it was issued to Benjamin D. Marx.
