The Reber body was of the removable Tonneau type. Total weight of the Reber was 1,650 pounds. The wheelbase was 78 inches and tread width was 54 inches. The first Reber was equipped with a two cylinder water cooled vertical engine rated at 12 horsepower. A three speed transmission was used that had three speeds forward and reverse. Final drive was by a double chain.
1902 Reber Touring Car - Reber Mfg. Co. In 1903 The Reber Mfg. Co. changed it's name after only one seasons. The Acme Motor Car Co. produced a few Reber automobiles in 1903. It then changed the name of the Reber to Acme. The 1903 Reber, shown below was a Type IV Model A and was priced at $1800.00. Early Reber and Acme models had 2 cylinder engines rated at 16 horsepower.
