1905 Smith Surrey The Smith Automobile Co. offered two distinctively different models in 1905, a Surry shown above and a Runabout. The 1905 Smith 18 horsepower Surrey was priced at $1,600.00 and the 1905 Smith 10 horsepower Runabout $1,250.00. The major change in Veracity to the Smith cars were in the painting. The Surrey was now blue and its Runabout red. The 1905 Smith's did scrap the stub nose front of the Runabout for a hood and upright radiator. Although the engines were still under the seat. Customers who wanted a 2 in 1 automobile would buy the Surrey. By removing the back Tonneau it converted the 18 horsepower Surrey into a stylish powerful Runabout.
1906 Smith Auto Company Touring Car In 1906, Terry Stafford and Clement Smith had further refined the Smith automobile. The above 1906 Smith advertisement claimed "The Graceful Smith. $2,500.00 For Our Leading Model, Completely Equipped". What was in store for The Smith Automobile Co. in 1907?
