1913 Stafford Touring Car That first year The Stafford Motor Car Company was under funded so on January 15, 1909 the company was reorganized and the plant moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Terry Stafford continues as president and the same American Automobile was manufactured. Others officers in the new company was C. L. and F. C. Merry, W. G. Whitcomb and C. C. Hoefer.
1911 Stafford The Stafford five passenger Touring Car was equipped with a four cylinder water cooled valve in head engine that developed 30 horsepower. The cylinders were cast in pairs, had roller tappets, overhead camshaft driven by silent chain and non-removable cylinder head. The bore was 4 1/8 inches and stroke was 4 5/8 inches. A three speed sliding gear transmission with reverse was used on the Stafford Touring Cars. The wheelbase was 112 inches, right hand drive, weight was 2,250 pounds, 34 inch x 4 inch wheels and tires. Price was $2,250.00 F.O.B. Kansas City.
