The Gearless Steam Car was produced as a $2600.00 five passenger Touring Car and a $2650.00 two passenger Roadster. Only a few Gearless Steam Car were ever produced.
1921 Gearless Steam Car - Roadster The water tank held 25 gallons and speeds of up to 70 MPH was claimed. The Gearless followed standard practice in chassis and body design. The same chassis was used for both the Roadster and Touring car.
1922 Gearless Steam Car - Touring Car Duncan MacDonald was president of The Gearless Motor Corporation. The Corporation failed in 1923 when MacDonald and four other officials were indicated for conspiracy and mail fraud. More than one million dollars worth of Gearless Motor Corp. stock was illegally sold.
1923 Gearless Steam Engine The Gearless Steam Car was equipped with a duplex horizontal steam engine that had four cylinders. Each engine functioned independently driving a rear wheel direct.
