The Waldron Runabout Mfg. Company of Waldron, Illinois was incorporated with a capital stock of $50,000 to build an American Automobile in 1909. They built a mechanically simple two passenger Runabout with three body types were offered including a business vehicle.

A. C. Gaylord was superintendent of the Waldron plant and E. O. Parker was general manager of the company. Main office was in Kankakee, Illinois.

The Waldron was equipped with an opposed two cylinder engine 12 horsepower engine mounted under the body. Other specifications included a friction transmission and double chain drive.

The Eisemann Magneto Company of New York City produced magneto's for American Automobiles in the early 1900s. This advertisement claims that their magneto's "Run Faster, Runs Slowest and Run Longest" and "The Spark That Never Fails."
