The 1931 Studebaker line consisted of seven different series and six engines. At the top were the six President Eight models. These were the finest American Automobiles that The Studebaker Corporation built in a decade. Perhaps they could be considered the best.

The heart of the 1931 Studebaker President was the 337 cubic inch straight eight engine that developed 122 horsepower. In 1931 Russel Snowberger drove a Studebaker race car equipped with a straight Eight engines in the Indianapolis 500.
