In 1907 the Anderson factory in Detroit was reorganized to manufacture Detroit Electric Automobiles. Early Detroit Electric's were known for their easy steering and instant start up. They became very popular with women, making a Detroit Electric the smart thing in which to be seen driving around town. Interiors were stylishly upholstered and the coach work was carriage like in design.
