Fords were totally restyled for 1959. The designers of the 1959 Ford swept the rear fender feature lines to the back of the automobile and formed a housing for the back up lights. They then curved the lower portion of the rear fender around an oversized tail light.

A new grille was designed that featured an insert with a pattern of floating stylized stars.

The flat top fenders housed dual hooded headlights and the parking lights were recessed into the bumper. The fenders were then sculptured along the sides. An exceptionally flat hood gave the '59 Ford a long and low appearance. Bright new colors were offered on the 59 ford.

The 1959 Ford Galaxie was a new sub-series of the Fairlane 500 and its top of the line automobile. It was trimmed as a Fairlane 500 on the deck lid, but had the Galaxie name on the rear fender tubes. The Galaxie line up included the $3,346.00 Skyline retractable Hard Top Coupe, 4 door Sedan, 2 door Club Sedan, Victoria 2 door Hard Top Coupe, Victoria 4 door Hard Top Sedan and the Sunliner Convertible Coupe.

1959 Ford Fairlane 500

The 1959 Ford Fairlane started off as The Ford Motor Companys top of the line automobile. However, it was soon replaced by the Galaxie. Fairlane features included the "Fairlane 500" that appeared on the rear fender tubes and on the trunk lid. The Fairlane line up included the Victoria 4 door Hard Top Sedan, Victoria 2 door Hard Top Coupe, 4 door sedan and 2 door Club Sedan.

The Fairlane model was the intermediate trim level for 1959. It included features that were not standard on the Custom 300s. Features such as chrome window molding, chrome horn rings and the Fairlane name only on rear fenders. The Fairlane line up included a 4 door Town Sedan and a 2 door Club Sedan. The 1959 Ford Custom 300 line included a 4 door Sedan, 2 door Sedan and a Business Coupe.

Station Wagons were still very popular with consumers in 1958 and once again The Ford Motor Co. built 6. Production included the 2 door 6 passenger Ranch, 4 door 6 passenger Ranch, 2 door 6 passenger Del Rio, 4 door 9 passenger Country Sedan, 4 door 6 passenger Country Sedan and the Country Squire. The Ranchero was in its third year of production. The 1960 Ford Falcon, Custom 300, Fairlane, Fairlane 500 and Galaxie cars and trucks followed the 1959 Fords.
