The Overholt Co. Galesburg, IL

Ed Overholt built an American Automobile called the "Illinois" in Galesburg, Illinois from 1910 to 1914. A Model K sold for about $1500.00 in 1911.

Overholt produced a five passenger touring car and small 4 passenger Tonneau. The engine he used in all of his automobiles was a 270 cubic four cylinder producing 45 horsepower.

The magazine ad above is provided by the Cleveland Speed Indicator Co. of Cleveland, Ohio. They were advertising their Cleveland Speed and Time Indicator. "A stop watch on your Car - you can prove it by your watch" They continued the ad by claiming "The application of the escapement principle of the clock combing the two elements - time and distance - marks a distinct advantage in speedometer construction. The time feature is characteristic and distinctive of the Cleveland instruments."
